poems making out constellations on angeles crest
“Making Out Constellations on Angeles Crest”Poem by Audrey Isabelle Mabanta
People long for
And are stunned
By the little lights in the sky
I just want to be up there
Yet in the face of traffic lights
And christmas decor wrapped around
A death sits with them
These lights are too bright for my eyes.
In fact it’s not its shine and shimmer
As to why we grow envious
But maybe seeing something so far shead
With nothing in its way
The emptiness of space
Space for them to be all they want to
No one criticizing them for it
Dictating the choices they should be making
We may not see all of them
With that they have all the space to be
Without eyes on their every move
The peace of mind they must have
To be themselves
How isoslating it must be
To not care what others think
How lonely it must be
To care what others think
